Buffalo is preparing to welcome Great Lakes cruise ships to the Erie Basin Marina, beginning in May, as American Cruise Lines launches a 14-day route from Buffalo to Milwaukee.

This development marks a pivotal moment for local tourism, with Mark Wendel of the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation highlighting Buffalo’s strategic location for cruises traveling between Canada and the United States.

Initially, cruise ships will dock at the Miss Buffalo site, with plans to establish a permanent terminal at Slip 2 on the Outer Harbor, close to the former Pier Restaurant.

Passengers can look forward to excursions to Niagara Falls, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, the Martin House, and the Buffalo Naval Park, immersing them in the city’s vibrant culture and history.

Luxury cruise ships carrying up to 130 guests promise to boost the economy and spotlight Buffalo’s unique attractions.
